We’re happy to have this copperware in the shop. Turkey has a long tradition of metalworking in both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, these represent a traditional design that utilizes copper’s excellent heat transfer; there is a good reason why these copper pots have endured.
Coppersmithing is mostly carried out by independent copper smiths who work in small workshops. Copper masters learn their arts in a master-apprentice relationship.
Most of our Turkish copper pots are made by the masters of Kahramanmaraş region. This coffee pot is finished in nickel and hand carved
Recommended recipe is a 12:1 water to finely ground coffee (optional 1:1 coffee to sugar ratio for those that like it sweet) brew in pot over the stovetop. There are different methods for brewing with these pots; either brew just to the boiling point or to let the coffee come to a boil and remove from heat to stop the boiling and bring it back again to a boil three times, then serve. Add aromatic spices to taste if desired. Some of us like cardamom.
Approx 16 fl oz. service for either 4 small glass cups or 2 larger cups
