A bowl made just for mixing natto (fermented soy beans).
The grooves serve a dual purpose: to maximize the amount of air you get when you mix your natto, therefore creating a fluffy natto texture and best taste, and also when you wash the bowl the neba neba (sliminess) is decreased due to the beans not sticking as much to the walls of the bowl.ย
The handle also allows for a firm grip as you mix your natto with as much fervor as you wish!
Hand wash, do not put in dishwasher.ย
Mino ware (calledย Mino yakiย in Japanese) is produced in the Tono area of Gifu prefecture. It has a long history and tradition but has adapted to modern life style.
