Semi-stainless SG2 core a nickle suminagashi cladding. Hand ground for a nice taper and convex hamaguri shape. This fine grind makes for smooth cutting and excellent food release with a long edge life and near stainless property. SG2 will hold a thinner edge for longer than most stainless steels, though if left wet or otherwise neglected, edge life will be effected and corrosion can form. Expected a soft patina over time that will accentuate the suminigashi patterning.
Linen micarta handles are are comfortable and have a slight texture to maintain grip during use. This is a step-up from you basic pakka handle.
