Dexter Connoiseur 8.5″ chef knife from the original 1960’s era production. This forged stainless line from Dexter was made to compete with the European stainless knives that were gaining in popularity in the 1950’s and 60’s. This is the classic Dexter knife design with the flat heel and wide front, they also made French style round ferrule/bolsterย knives.ย
This knife was used hard and put away wet, literally, there was a little rust on it, which is now gone but theres some light pits, blade has a slight cant to the right. Not going to be a finesse knife but as a beater this will do great or in a collection as an example of this iconic American maker’s chef knife in stainless (harder to find than the carbon steel of this era)
