 J A Henckels forged carbon steel scimitar made in Solingen Germany in the 1950’s, pre-war ones have a one piece wood handle with contoured grip, later ones are not forged as the tapered tang shows. 

This knife has been used extensively but still has some life left, it originally was 10″ and is not clocking in at 9.5″, the handle has been re-shaped as well making it thinner at the blade end of the handle and clipping off the rivets, the handle is still secure however. It has not been thinned.
